Electrical Technology
Demand is Surging for Electrical Tech Professionals
There’s no doubt that the future is bright for professionals with electrical and solar technology skills. In Orange County alone, job opportunities for specialty trade contractors like electricians are projected to grow by 22% between 2012 and 2022, more than three times the national average for all occupations.
IVC’s Electrician Trainee and Energy Solar Photovoltaic Systems Technician certificate programs meet this regional and nationwide demand by providing the practical training students need for immediate employment or further study in either of these fields.
Similarly, demand for solar photovoltaic technicians and installers will continue to experience exponential growth as the widespread demand for clean energy increases. It’s no wonder that occupational data tracking application O-NET Online named these and many other careers in the Electronic Technology field on its latest “Bright Outlook Occupations” list.
Graduates of the Electrician Trainee certificate program enter the workforce prepared for immediate employment in areas such as residential wiring, commercial wiring, facility maintenance, and troubleshooting electrical circuits and equipment. Meanwhile, the Energy Solar Photovoltaic Systems Technician certificate program is designed to prepare students new to the industry, and upgrade the skills of those already employed in solar-related jobs.
Both certificates combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning environments to prepare students for the current job market, while laying the foundation for future education and career growth.
