In order to meet the growing demand for employees with an understanding of business, IVC's Business and Management programs offer a variety of degree and certificate options, giving students the practical skills they need to succeed in the world of commerce.

Traditional, two-year Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees are available in Business Administration, Business Management, Manufacturing Assistant, and Supervision. Those who wish to enter the workforce more quickly, or upgrade their current skills to achieve a promotion can choose from Certificates of Achievement (COA) in Business Management, Manufacturing Assistant, Retail Management, and Supervision.

If you’ve got the itch to start your own business, or even join a startup, developing an entrepreneurial mindset is a valuable skill to an employer and we provide that hands-on experiential learning. IVC offers specialized Certificates of Proficiency (COP) in Entrepreneurial Planning and Presentation, Entrepreneurship Skills, Idea Development and Opportunity Recognition for Entrepreneurs, Research Tools for Entrepreneurs, and Understanding Entrepreneurial Operations.

What Degrees and Certificates Are Available to Me?
IVC offers a variety of program types to help build your future-proof career! 

Associate in Arts and Associate in Science Degrees
These two-year college degrees are designed for students who want to gain in-depth understanding of a particular field in order to enter a specific profession or to prepare for further education at a technical or trade school, or a four-year college or university.

IVC Offers an AA Degree in:
Business Administration

IVC Offers AS Degrees in:
Business Management
Manufacturing Assistant

Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) Degrees 
Like the AA, these degrees give students an in-depth understanding of a particular field but differ in that they are specifically designed to help students transfer seamlessly to a 4-year California State University where they can complete a bachelor’s degree.

Business Administration

Certificates of Achievement
Certificates of Achievement are state-approved certificates that acknowledge workplace competencies and job readiness in a particular field. In many cases, the courses that comprise a certificate of achievement are the same as those required for an associate degree, minus the General Education courses.

Retail Management

Certificates of Proficiency
Certificates of Proficiency acknowledge basic workplace abilities and are designed for students who want to enter the workforce quickly or upgrade their job skills. These certificates have a total credit requirement of less than 18 units and are designed and approved by local business leaders in order to make them as practical as possible.
